360-DEGREE VR EXPERIENCE IN BOUTIQUES AND AT PRESS EVENT

Nespresso and Kega create a tangible digital experience

Nespresso is market leader in coffee machines, coffee capsules and coffee accessories. The multi-sensory experience surrounding the coffee specialties and machines is integral to the company’s success.

Photographer and former NOS news anchor Sacha de Boer travelled to Colombia in June this year to chronicle the story behind the Rosabaya de Colombia Grand Cru – from coffee bean to coffee cup. Kega was asked to present a truly unique showcase of these mesmerising photographs and the fascinating documentary – filmed in a 360-degree perspective – at a special press event and in the Nespresso boutiques: in Virtual Reality.


THE ASSIGNMENT

Facilitate a unique 360° experience for the press as well as Nespresso Club Members about the De Boer & de boer campaign (a play on words that literally translates to The Farmer & the farmer) and make sure this contributes maximally to the qualitatively outstanding image of Nespresso.

THE APPROACH / THE SOLUTION

Kega developed a total solution for Nespresso – consisting of VR glasses, smartphone, headphone, seating, charging and security – allowing club members visiting the Nespresso Boutiques to sample a unique Virtual Reality experience over a period of 6 weeks. For the press event we organised a one-off, total VR experience for 30 journalists.

From advice to in-store concept and from VR hardware to technical support, we took complete care of the event on behalf of Nespresso to make this innovative campaign a huge success.
