Too good to go

Too good to go

Once upon a time, there were five Danish boys who were eating in a buffet restaurant. To their surprise, they saw how a restaurant employee, without any trace of shame, slipped the remains of the buffet into the rubbish bin. That happened three times a day! And that's why they decided to start Too Good To Go in 2016.

The idea is simple: An app enables catering and retail companies to offer their surplus products in a Magic Bag at a knock-down price. The food in the bag is still good, but can no longer be sold the next day. Organic supermarkets such as Marqt, Landmarkt and Ekolaza, several bakers, fish shops, Mercure hotels and now also AH To Go and Jumbo are offering their surplus food.

You use the app to order and pay for the Magic Bag from the shop of your choice. It usually costs between three and seven euros. The magic of this purchase is that you never know exactly what you will get. But one thing you know for sure is that you will get products worth three times what you paid! What's more, the quantity and quality will surprise you.

The entrepreneur does not participate to make a profit, but out of social involvement. You also attract new customers, who appreciate the fact that you are fighting food waste. What about the customers? They get to enjoy good food, support the local entrepreneur, and know that they have been 'saving' food. The waste warriors of Too Good To Go believe that everyone can make a difference. More than 10.5 million rescued meals in eight European countries are the proof!
