Privacy Statement

KEGA, located at Madame Curiestraat 24, 2171 TW in Sassenheim, processes personal data of its customers, prospects, and other contacts. We do this to provide the best possible service to our customers and to achieve our objectives. In this privacy statement, we explain why and how we process your personal data.

KEGA is a DDMA member and holds the Privacy Waarborg (Privacy Guarantee) certificate.

This privacy statement replaces all older versions. We may update this privacy statement from time to time. Last updated: July 1, 2019.

Personal data we process

KEGA processes your personal data because you use our services and/or because you provide them to us yourself.

Below is an overview of the personal data we process for various legitimate business purposes. We process the following personal data:

  • First and last name

  • Organization name

  • Address details

  • Telephone number and email address

  • Gender Job title Curriculum Vitae (CV)

  • Cover letter

  • Educational details

  • Assessment results

  • Contact history

  • Cookie ID (you can read more about cookies in our cookie statement)

  • Opt-in for the email newsletter

  • Open and click behavior in this newsletter

  • Areas of interest

  • Participation in events

We process personal data for the following purposes:

Legal Obligations:
A small part of our processing is legally mandatory. This mainly concerns personal data required to fulfill our tax obligations. However, it could also involve processing personal data in case of emergencies at KEGA.

Administration and Service Provision:
In our administration, we keep track of who our customers are, along with the relevant contact persons. We maintain various personal data of contact persons to perform our services as optimally as possible. For example, we keep contact details to be able to reach you, areas of interest to provide you with the best possible information, and we process personal data for participation details to plan our meetings/events etc. as effectively as possible.

Newsletters and Mailings:
You can sign up for various newsletters with us. Sometimes personalized, and sometimes not. If you no longer wish to receive newsletters, you can unsubscribe in every email.

Recruitment Marketing:
KEGA moves with the sector, and therefore we recruit new customers, sponsors, speakers for events, and experts for inspiration sessions. To maintain contact with everyone, we also process their contact details and areas of interest.

For KEGA campaigns (and KEGA-related campaigns such as our events), we also process personal data, such as IP address, cookie ID, and/or Browse behavior. We do this to display the most relevant advertisement in the right places. We only record this data if you have given your explicit consent. See also our Cookie Policy.

Employee Recruitment:
KEGA is regularly looking for new colleagues. The ways KEGA obtains your personal data are as follows:

  • You provide your personal data to us yourself.

  • You provide your personal data to us through a third party, for example, through a recruitment agency or a reference.

  • Through sourcing, for example, LinkedIn.

Improvement of KEGA Services:
To improve our services, we also keep track of personal data. For example, click behavior on the website to analyze which articles are read most and open rates to see if our newsletters are relevant. Click behavior on the website is not tracked based on IP address and therefore cannot be traced back to a person.

Special Data:
We process two types of special personal data: gender and ethnicity (photos). We process gender to address you as 'Ms.' or 'Mr.' We process photos to add atmosphere to our content. These processing activities are always voluntary and are (of course) not used for other purposes. Again, if you have any questions, please let us know!

Rights of Data Subjects

Under the GDPR, everyone has a number of rights. We do our utmost to comply with these as well as possible.

  • Information and Access: You can, of course, view which personal data we process about you. We will also gladly tell you more about how and why we process that data.

  • Rectification: Do you think we have incorrect data about you? Please let us know, and we will correct it.

  • Erasure (Right to be Forgotten): You can have the personal data we hold about you deleted. It is possible that we may still need to process that data for other purposes (e.g., administration or deduplication).

  • Restriction of Processing: If you believe that we are processing your personal data unlawfully or incorrectly, you can request that the processing be restricted.

  • Objection: You can object to the processing of your personal data. If it concerns marketing, we will stop that processing as soon as possible.

  • Data Portability: This is a new right under the GDPR to transfer your personal data (or have it transferred). If you wish to make use of this, please contact us.

Retention periods

We do not store personal data longer than necessary.

In the case of a rejection for a job application, we store your personal data for 6 months for future vacancies, unless you have indicated in your application that we should not store them longer than the application procedure.

Sharing personal data with third parties

For the performance of our services, we sometimes engage third parties. These are not 'third-party recipients' but processors. For example, we work with an ESP, software for project administration, and use Google Analytics. These parties process personal data in accordance with KEGA's instructions.

Sometimes we are legally obliged to provide personal data to third parties, such as the Tax Authorities. Furthermore, we will only provide data to third parties if we have obtained your consent.

On KEGA's websites, there are a number of links to other organizations' websites. KEGA is not responsible for how those parties process personal data. For that, you can read the privacy statement of the organization concerned.

Cookie statement

We use cookies on KEGA's website. We do this to improve our services, to ensure the optimal functioning of the websites, for the efficient execution of campaigns, and for the purposes described in our privacy statement. Cookies are small text files that are placed on a PC, tablet, or mobile phone by an internet page.

KEGA uses cookies with a purely technical functionality. These ensure that the website works properly and that your preferred settings, for example, are remembered. In addition, KEGA uses cookies to investigate the use of the KEGA Website. A permanent cookie is placed on your computer or mobile device.
